Parliament is a brand of cigarettes marketed by the company Philip Morris. The Parliament brand is idiosyncratic for their recessed paper filter and a sharp, tangy flavor. It occupies a strong position in countries like Japan, Argentina, Israel, Turkey, Russia and United States.
Parliament Cigarettes were introduced to the U.S. market as the cigarette of choice for fairer sex. It was also pushed as a mild cigarette. The Marlboro brand never gained enough traction in the market and was finally discontinued during Second World War By 1972; Parliament Cigarettes had become the most popular world-wide and have stayed that way for best part of years that have followed.
